Quincy Jones On ‘Thriller’ And The “New” Michael Jackson Album ‘Xscape’

Quincy Jones credentials are impeccable.

When he was 19 years old, he was traveling to Europe with Lionel Hampton.  In the early 60’s he became the musical director of Mercury records New York division, producing four million selling singles for pop princess Lesley Gore.

He was also producing arrangements for Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, and Dinah Washington.

And in the late 70’s he began his association with Michael Jackson, producing Michael’s all-time best-selling album “Thriller”.

When Michael’s “new” album ‘Xscape’ came out earlier this month, I wondered what Quincy thought of it.

It didn’t take long to find out.  See what he told a Canadian interviewer last week.
