Glen Campbell is 78 today, though I don’t think he knows it.

I don’t say that with any malice. I’m a huge fan  and was always impressed when I met him at several events through the years.

That was long before Alzheimer’s disease began stealing the memory of the former valley resident whose career extended across five decades.

Today Glen Campbell  resides in an Alzheimer’s care facility in Nashville, Tennessee, where he’s been since the end of March.

The agonizing decision was made by his partner of 31 years, Kim Woolen, who admitted him for his own safety.

The last time I saw him was in February 2012 at Comerica Theatre when he cane to Phoenix for his Goodbye Tour.

And there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when he sang ‘By the Time I Get To Phoenix’…. for the last time in Phoenix.

Happy Birthday Glen.  We’re still thinking about you.
