Yes you read right, Englebert Humperdinck who recorded a string of hits in the 60’s and 70’s, is in town tonight for an 8pm show at the Celebrity Theatre (click here for ticket info).

He’s had his share of hits with love in the title: ‘Release Me (and Let Me Love Again), ‘A Man Without Love’, ‘Winter World Of Love’, and ‘After The Lovin”.

In all, Englebert has place 24 hits on the Billboard singles chart and 17 albums on the Billboard Hot 200 Album chart.
But his most interesting album may be the one due for release next month in England and later this summer here in the states in which he teams up with Wynonna Judd, Elton John, Dionne Warwick, Johnny Mathis, Willie Nelson, and……..Gene Simmons of Kiss!

Tickets are still available for tonight’s show which will feature a generous amount of love songs (perfect timing since we’re only a couple of days away from Valentine’s day!), and he’ll also be singing a few songs from his forthcoming album.
As to how the new album came about, here’s a conversation I had with Englebert a few days ago. He talks about working with Gene Simmons, his early years, and performing.

Nice man – should be a great show.

And I’m dying to hear how that duet with Gene turned out!
