1939 – Tina Turner (real name: Anna Mae Bullock – ‘Proud Mary’, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’)

1944 – Jean Terrell (Supremes – joined 1969 – ‘Up the Ladder To The Roof’)

1944 – Alan Henderson (Them – bass – ‘Gloria’, ‘Here Comes the Night’)

1945 – John McVie (Fleetwood Mac – bass)

1946 – Burt Reiter (Focus – bass – ‘Hocus Pocus’)

November 26, 1962 – The Beatles recorded their second single ‘Please Please Me’/’Ask Me Why’.  ‘Please Please Me’ took 18 takes before everyone was satisfied with the master, and when it was released in the United States on the Vee-Jay label, the groups name was misspelled The Beattles, an instant collectors item was created for which hard core collectors shell out big bucks.

1967 – The Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, but not live and on stage.  Their promotional film for ‘Hello Goodbye’ was shown in its American debut.

1968 – Cream played their farewell tour at the Royal Albert Hall in London.  The show was filmed and later released as Cream’s Farewell Concert.  It was greeted with less than glowing reviews for its poor sound and sloppy video editing.  If any film was due for a new cut and soundtrack upgrade, this would be it.

1988 – Russian cosmonauts aboard Soyuz 7 took a cassette copy of Pink Floyd’s “Delicate Sound Of Thunder” and played it while in orbit, making Pink Floyd the first (of many) rock bands to be played in space.

1989 – The Rolling Stones played a concert at Death Valley Stadium in South Carolina to help raise money for victims of Hurricane Hugo.  The set list included ‘Satisfaction’ which was omitted in their London set list the night before.

Go figure.
