Steve Goddard Interview With The Rascals Drummer Dino Danelli

Sunday night The Rascals wrap up their five shows in Phoenix at the Orpheum Theatre.  There are still great seats available for tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday that you can check out by clicking here.

The show has gotten great reviews here in the valley, and spending time with all four members of the group earlier this week gave me an even deeper appreciation of them as people and as musicians.

A couple of weeks ago before hooking up with the guys, I spoke with drummer Dino Danelli, who during the course of our conversation talked about disc jockey Murray The ‘K’,who pressured their record company to release ‘Groovin” as a single (they didn’t want to), and his recollection of why The Rascals broke up.

I can’t wait for Sunday night – bought my tickets as soon as I found out they were coming.  From all I’ve heard from friends who have already seen the show, it’s not only worth the money, it as worth the wait.

Check out Dino’s drumming style in this classic clip from 1966.  A master drummer and master showman.
