1963 – Graham Nash fell out of The Hollies touring van after a gig in Scotland while checking to see if a door was locked.  It wasn’t and he fell out onto the road.  Could have been worse.  They were only going 40 miles an hour.

1965 – The Beatles ‘Yesterday’ was released as a single here in the United states – but not in the UK. The song and recording was so different from anything they had previously released, the band vetoed its release in England, although it was finally re-issued as a single there in 1976.

1985 – We Are The World’ won Group Video and Viewer’s Choice at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City without any upstaging from small/non talents like Miley Cyrus.

2003 – Michael Jackson opened up his Neverland ranch in Santa Barbara Count for a charity party.  500 guests paid $5000 each for the day.

2005 – The home where Jimi Hendrix grew up in Seattle was spared the wrecking ball when the James Marshall Hendrix foundation and the City of Seattle agreed on a new location for the structure.  The compromise was to renovate the home into a community center opposite the cemetary where Jimi was buried in 1970.

2000 – Elton John threw a major hissy fit when he was set t0 appear at a sold out show at a casino near Lisbon.  What set him off was the fact that the audience was slow in leaving a VIP dinner before the concert, so Elton left the building and flew home in his private jet without playing a single note.
