1962 – The Beatles third attempt to record ‘Love Me Do’ resulted in several takes with session drummer Andy White on the skins instead of Ringo.  This was at the insistence of producer George Martin, who has apologized to Ringo numerous times through the years.  The single version version released in England featured an earlier recorded version with Ringo on drums, while the ‘Please Please Me’ album contained the Andy White version.

1971 – The animated Jackson Five series premiered on ABC-TV.  The entire series was released on DVD and bly-ray earlier this year.

1977 – David Bowie made a guest appearance on Bing Crosby’s last Christmas television special ”A Merrie Olde Christmas’ which was taped in England for broadcast in the United States.  Through the years, the duet which seemed so out of place at the time has become an iconic classic.  Bing died on October 14, six weeks before the special aired on November 30.
