Box Office Battle

So who dukes it out this weekend for the top position in the box office? Let’s take a look at some options for you, the family, or date night. I took the kids to see one of the top ten from last week. And we loved it! Good for the entire family, the second installment in the Percy Jackson series, “Percy Jackson and the Sea of Creatures” brings laughs and excitement.

There are plenty of others that are already hanging around from the last few weeks and worth watching and we will take a look at those as well in just a moment. But first let’s see what’s new this week and maybe worth a trip to the movies for….

I have seen ads everywhere for months about the first on our “new” list. Looks like the film company has put some money into the promotion of this thriller about a family reunion in a mansion that becomes a full on massacre. “You’re Next” Rated R.

What happens when longtime buddies with a relationship on the fritz get stuck in the middle of the desert with a broken down pickup? Find out as you go through all the twists and turns in “Scenic Route”. Stars Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler and is Rated R.

And in our third new addition to the box office this weekend we follow a NY teen that finds she is from a noble line of half angel-demon slayers called The Shadowhunters. She joins them on a mission to find her missing mother from another dimension. “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” is Rated Pg13.

Now in case nothing new peaks your interest and you would like to enjoy a hot bucket of popcorn and pop while you stay clear of monsoons and AZ heat, then consider one of the hot ones from last week. Here is a glance at the top five…

#1. Lee Daniels’ The Butler

#2. We’re the Millers

#3. Elysium

#4. Kick Ass 2

#5. Planes

Have a safe and wonderful weekend with whatever you decide!!! 🙂
