The Monkees hit town this Friday night as part of their 24 date ‘A Midsummer’s Night’ tour.  Though it may not be as crazy as it was in 1967 when they came to Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, the Ikeda Theatre at the Mesa Arts Center will still be rocking with all the Monkees hits like Last Train To Clarksville, I’m A Believer, Valleri, Theme From The Monkees, and even Goin’ Down!

All week long long I’l be posting interviews I did with three of The Monkees, and we begin with a conversation I had with Peter Tork a couple of weeks ago.

In this first part (of 3) you’ll hear Peter talk about:

The Monkees movie ‘Head

– the doublesided sword of being a member of the group

– his connection to Stephen Stills, who auditioned for the Monkees

– who took his songwriting royalties away

– the common ground between Peter Tork and the character he played on the show

and……Brian Wilson.

That’s just Part 1!  Hope you enjoy it.
