Born in the U.S.A…29 today!

Can you believe it was 29 years ago today that Bruce Springsteen released his biggest album “Born In The U.S.A.”?

In fact it was the best-selling album in 1984 and produced a record tying 7 TOP 10 hits!  He tied with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album, and Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation 1814” album.  It featured “Born In The U.S.A.”, “Cover Me”, “I’m On Fire”, “Glory Days”, “I’m Going Down”, “Dancing In The Dark”, “My Hometown”, and more.

It put Bruce into the pop world and exposed him to a larger audience.  While staying true to his craft, Bruce had a huge tour that year to support the record.  It was one of my favorites.  I had a roommate in college that was a HUGE Boss fan, and made it known every day by blasting his music.  He exposed me to early Bruce which made me appreciate the artist even more.  Thanks Brian!
