A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans, investors, museums and collectors to own a piece of rock history, art and other personal property of Rolling Stones’ guitarist and two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ronnie Wood will be offered in an auction next month. On Saturday, October 27, Julien’s Auctions will begin a exclusive auction from what they are calling “Property From The Collection of Ronnie and Jo Wood.” The collection features memorabilia from an era spanning four decades: from Wood’s time with The Faces, through his tenure with The Rolling Stones as well as his career as a visual artist.

Items include stage worn leather jackets and clothing, two Ronnie Wood custom painted Fender Stratocasters, backstage passes, collectible Rolling Stones books, guitar picks, vinyl record albums, a Mick Jagger handwritten note to Wood, a Mick Jagger autographed Rolling Stones poster, a cardboard cutout in the form of a guitar body inscribed “To Ronnie from Keith,” and other Rolling Stones memorabilia Jo collected over the years.

Besides music memorabilia, the Wood collection includes fine antiques, furniture and decorative art from Holmwood, the Surrey countryside estate once shared by Ronnie and Jo Wood. Other interesting items being offered include a set of nine original John Lennon and Steven Verona cartoon drawings used in The Beatles’ first music video and portraits of Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan.

Soon after the auction became public, Ronnie Wood came forward to deny any involvement in the auction. Wood says some of the items were “clearly his personal belongings.” A statement released through Ronnie Wood’s publicist says, “He is… shocked and disappointed that this auction is being misrepresented as a joint sale. This is not the case.” It continues, “Ronnie feels saddened that Jo has taken this course of action and wants the public to know he has not teamed up with Jo on this outrageous sale.” Ronnie and Jo’s divorce was finalized in 2011, after 24 years of marriage. Three years before the divorce, the couple split after Ronnie’swidely reported relationship with waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

The property being auctioned off can be previewed here or on the juliensauctions.com website.

If Ron Wood is unhappy about the sale, he’s also likely not going to be glad that his ex-wife is penning her autobiography, which will no doubt go into the details of their split.
