Lysa D.’s KOOL Kollective – 7/18/12

I love me some Brothers Johnson! So, I thought I’d feature one of my faves, “Stomp.” It’s just one of those feel-good songs that makes you shake your behind even if you’re not a fan of the song…or not! LOL

“Stomp” released in 1980, when I was in Little League (seriously LOL) and peaked at #1 in the dance and R&B charts. It only reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was an even bigger success in the UK by peaking at #6. This was one of their best-known songs, commercially. Other hits they’ve had include “Ain’t We Funkin’ Now” and “Strawberry Letter 23.”

Quincy Jones did a remake of it in 1995, but it wasn’t quite as successful. Enjoy!
