He was great with the Doobie Brothers…He sounds great teamed up in duets with the likes of Patti Labelle, James Ingram and Kenny Loggins…He’s equally as KOOL as a solo artist! Today’s KOOL Kollective artist is Michael McDonald!

He’s one of my favorite KOOL artists and today’s featured video is one of my favorite songs, “I Keep Forgettin’.”

The track was released in 1982 on his solo album, If That’s What It Takes. It reached #4 on the Billboard Pop charts and #7 on the R&B chart. His sister, Maureen, did the background vocals, while Louis Johnson (of the famed group, Brothers Johnson) was responsible for the song’s funky bassline.
