As you may or may not know, legendary musician, Bob Welch (formerly of Fleetwood Mac), passed away today of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Because of his contributions to music, I decided to honor his music by featuring him as today’s KOOL Kollective artist – although I don’t have much respect for those who take their own lives, regardless of the reasons.

While he was with Fleetwood Mac, which was circa 1971 to about 1974, he actually helped the the direction of the band’s music, to a more melodic genre. During his stint with FM, the album Future Games was gaining the interest of fans alike. They second album release titled, Bare Trees, included “Sentimental Lady,” which didn’t have as much success as it did years later when Welch re-recorded it for his solo album.

“Sentimental Lady” was featured on Welch’s solo album, French Kiss, and ranked in the Top 10 for both the Pop and AC (Adult Contemporary) charts.

RIP Bob Welch…
