70 years ago today Bing Crosby recorded the biggest selling single of all time, White Christmas, with sales of over 30 million, until it was overtaken in 1992 by Elton John‘s ‘Candle In The Wind’. also on this day in 1962, Chubby Checker won a Grammy Award for Best Rock and Roll Recording for ‘Let’s Twist Again’, and Ray Charles won Best Rhythm and Blues Recording for Hit The Road Jack.
