We’re so excited to be screening The Wrecking Crew movie tomorrow night at Skye.  Tells the story of the group of studio musicians (known as The Wrecking Crew) that played on literally thousands of hit records by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Beach Boys[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Elvis Presley[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Mamas and Papas[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frank Sinatra[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Phil Spector[/lastfm]’s productions, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Linda Ronstadt[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Byrds[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dusty Springfield[/lastfm],[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Bobby Sherman[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Four Tops[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Marvin Gaye[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Diamond[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Lovin’ Spoonful[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tom Jones[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Monkees[/lastfm], and on and on.  [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Glen Campbell[/lastfm] was a member of the studio group before he hit it big with his own career.  Tomorrow night,  keyboard player [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Don Randi[/lastfm] and drummer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Hal Blaine[/lastfm] will be joining us at the screening with a Q & A  session to follow.  I spoke with both last week, and will be posting more from them today and tomorrow.  Don had a great story about working with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Elvis Presley[/lastfm] on his 1968 television special that I’d never heard.
