There’s rarely an original piece of music today.  Everyone samples existing hit songs.  Many of them are played on KOOL daily!  One in particular is “Hotel California” from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Eagles[/lastfm].  According to the group, it was not just sampled.  It was completely stolen in 2011!  They’re none too happy.  And, their lawyers are having a field day.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frank Ocean[/lastfm] is the accused ripper-offer.  He released a song called “American Wedding”last year.  It seems [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Don Henley[/lastfm] tried to contact Ocean about a potential lawsuit.  Ocean’s response: “They threatened to sue if I perform it again. I think that’s f**kin’ awesome. I guess if I play it at Coachella it’ll cost me a couple hundred racks.  They also asked that I release a statement expressing my admiration for Mr. Henley, along with my assistance pulling it off the web as much as possible.”

You’ll LOVE the Eagles’ response to that!  Get it HERE.
