Can you hear me now? Kino is deaf but responds to sign language…and belly rubs!

kino Dog Of The Week

Don’t be offended if Kino doesn’t respond when you call him for the American Bulldog and Mastiff mix is deaf and can’t hear a word. The only language he understands is sign language and he will eagerly perform the “sit” command when he is ask to do so.

He will need special training when it comes to learning the basic commands. Deaf dogs read hand signals, body language and facial expressions to understand what their humans are communicating to them so his new owner must be rather expressive.

Kino makes friends easily especially with someone who offers a good belly rub. At the age of four, he enjoys daily walks around the neighborhood and cuddling with his owner on the couch afterwards. Snoring should be expected however when Kino finally crashes on his oversize doggie bed at night.
