It’s mixed news for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] fans.  There’s no news forthcoming about the Stones, which is understandable since [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick Jagger[/lastfm] has a new band called [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]SuperHeavy[/lastfm].  There’s an album on the way in September, and a music video for the first single.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]SuperHeavy[/lastfm] consists of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick Jagger[/lastfm], Indian music composer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]A.R. Rahman[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bob Marley[/lastfm]‘s youngest son [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Damian Marley[/lastfm], soul singer J[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]oss Stone[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eurythmics[/lastfm] guitarist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dave Stewart[/lastfm].  Mick announced the formation of the group last month, but they’ve secretly been gone full steam ahead for 18 months.  In their first week together the group wrote 22 songs and laid down over a three week span earlier this year in Los Angeles. Since then, they’ve recorded in various studios around the world, including France, India, Cyprus, and Miami, Florida.

According to Mick “It’s a different kind of record than what people would expect.  It’s not all weird and strange though.  I think Stones fans will think it’s a bit odd, but they’ll find most of it accessible.”

We’ll find out for ourselves in September.
