simon cowells x factor Do YOU Have The X Factor?

Simon Cowell returns to American television this Fall with X Factor.  It’s like American Idol – but, on steroids!  The minimum age is down to 12.  Vocal groups are welcome to enter – not just solo singers.  The grand prize is a $5 MILLION recording contract!  And, Arizona Mills has one of only SIX recording studios in the US where you can record an audition video.  But, you gotta get it done by SATURDAY!

A Scottsdale company has made it possible for local singers to audition for the U.S. version of Simon Cowell’s new show, “The X Factor,” without leaving the Valley.

Arizona Mills is one of six MyStudio locations nationwide where “X Factor” hopefuls can record audition videos in a state-of the-art recording booth, from Friday, April 8, through Saturday, April 30.

“These studios were brought to my attention some months ago,” Cowell said, in a statement, “and we think they are a brilliant way to audition for those people who haven’t been able to make it to the cities. MyStudio has kindly let us use these high-tech studios for ‘The X Factor’ auditions, which record studio-quality sound and video to make the audition tape, and I’m very excited for anyone who decides to use these to audition.”

You must be 12 or older to compete, and unlike “American Idol,” this competition is open to vocal groups as well as solo acts. Auditions must be a cappella and include a statement as to why you think you have the goods to be a global superstar.

The prize is a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.

If selected by the show’s producers, potential contestants will advance to callbacks in an “X Factor” audition city.

Visit or call toll-free at 855-345-5678 for eligibility requirements, the latest news on the audition studios or to sign up to receive audition information. All auditioners should go online to confirm eligibility and review the “X Factor”/MyStudio audition video submission terms and conditions.

The MyStudio booth at Arizona Mills is near GameWorks. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
