Who in the crowd remembers 45s?  I always tell kids, “records are just bigger, black CDs with grooves!”  The [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] are releasing a new box set including ALL 45 of their classic “45s!”  Is this the first step in preparation for that big tour???

The band announced on its official site Wednesday that the box set will arrive in stores in the U.K. on April 11, while U.S. dates have yet to be announced.

Each single will come in its own packaging, from “Brown Sugar” to “Biggest Mistake.” The set spans 36 years of Rolling Stones singles, and will also include 80 unreleased live tracks and demos and a 32-page full-color booklet featuring an interview will Bill Wyman.

Basically, this box set is a must-have for any Rolling Stones fan. Any chance to obtain 80 previously unreleased tracks cannot go unnoticed.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards also made headlines for an unrelated story regarding comments Richards made about Jagger’s manhood.

Richards wrote unflattering remarks about Jagger’s “tiny todger” in his book and repeated the same comments in recent interviews, which reportedly has severely strained the relationship between the two.

Some believe this is the real reason talks of a potential Rolling Stones 50th anniversary tour have stalled, according to a report from Mirror in the U.K. But Jagger still plans to perform at this Sunday’s GRAMMYs.

Unfortunately, I do! I’m surprised you do. My mother (who just turned 65 in December) and her twin sister used to blast Neil Diamond’s “Cherry, Cherry” and anything by Johnny Mathis (I think they were in love with him) and dance around our family room. My cousins and I thought they were very amusing but a little nuts. We shook our heads and went back to playing with our Lincoln Logs, Legos, Hot Wheels, Barbie Dolls, puzzles, or anything 70’s.

    1. I have a massive collection of 45’s! I first played them on my Mickey Mouse record player, then upgraded to a “big person’s” turntable from Fisher 🙂
