It’s Turntable Tuesday!

turntable with text blog Its Turntable Tuesday!

KOOL kicks off a brand new feature today called “Turntable Tuesday!”  Every week, we’ll pull long-lost songs out of the archives.  This morning, Tom & Maria brought back “Bend Me, Shape Me” from the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]American Breed[/lastfm]!  Wow.  We also featured [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Leon Russell[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dan Hartman[/lastfm] and the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Amazing Rhythm Aces[/lastfm] today. At 10:32, I’m playing a song that gets SO many requests!

Classic clip! I can’t help but think about Schoolhouse Rock after seeing this. Thanks for making me feel old!

    1. Conjunction junction…what’s YOUR function?

“Bend Me, Shape Me” isn’t a long-lost song. It got regular airplay on KOOL and other oldies stations before you guys became “classic hits” stations and deemphasized the ’60s. Now if you play one of the first three charted songs by Bill Deal & The Rhondels–that would be a long-lost song! (P.S.: I’ll appreciate Turntable Tuesday much more when “Brown Eyed Girl” is part of it 😉

    1. We’ll dig around for Bill Deal! Also, remember…if we played the American Breed everyday, it wouldn’t be as fun to bring it back on Turntable Tuesdays 🙂

oldiesfan6479 may appreciate Turntable Tuesday more when “Brown Eyed Girl” is played, but I think Turntable Tuesday would be better served with Elton John’s Blue Eyes.
