Thanksgiving Travel

Here are some great websites to help you that have info on airline fees, security procedures, parking at Sky Harbor (including discount coupons), airport WI-FI, and more! The Transportation Security Administration offers a holiday-travel guide with details on security procedures and passenger identification, plus policies on liquids and food.  Sky Harbor International Airport’s website has travel tips, parking information and flight status.  A bonus: print out the coupon for 40% off parking at the terminals.  Check out the Ultimate Guide to Airline Fees for a comprehensive listing of charges for checked bags, seat selection, food, Wi-FI, unaccompanied minors and more.  Click on Traveler Update for airport weather conditions and a national flying forecast.

Free Wi-FI at Airports and on Planes…

Browsing the Internet is a great way to kill time while waiting for flights or, on an increasing number of airlines, on the plane.  It’s even better when it’s free.

Many airports, including Sky Harbor, offer free WI-FI.  To check airports’ policies, go to and click on “Airport Internet Access” under “Travel Guides.”

Delta, Air Tran and Virgin America are offering free in-flight Wi-Fi through Jan. 2, courtesy of Google Chrome.

Alaska Air is offering free Wi-Fi through Dec, 9, courtesy of Honda.
