Elton John agrees with Anderson Cooper: The gay joke in Vince Vaughn’s upcoming comedy, The Dilemma, has to go.

“Enough already!” he told UsMagazine.com Monday at his AIDS Foundation’s ‘An Enduring Vision’ benefit in NYC.

John, 63, praised Cooper, 45, for first pointing out how the joke in the film — “Ladies and gentlemen, electric cars … are gay,” Vaughn, 40, quips — could be hurtful.

Cooper “is one of the most important people on television,” John told Us. “His heart is in exactly the right place — same as mine. He thinks the way I do. He’s intelligent, and he’s on the side of what we’re on. I hate bigotry. I hate racial hatred. I hate sexual hatred. I mean, Anderson is on our side.”
