And it IS playing at a theatre here in the valley for the next two weeks in its latest incarnation that makes you a part of the movie. And it’s not 3-D. ‘Grease’ has been re-released for a two week nationwide run in Phoenix and 9 other cities. So what’s the difference? For one, it now has subtitles with all the songs so you can sing along with the movie. The second difference is silly to me: they’ve digitally removed all the cigarettes from the film. Take a close look at the trailer and you’ll see Olivia Newton-John with nothing but air between her fingers.
The film is showing at the AMC Esplendae 14 on East Camelback. You can click here for tickets and more information.
32 years later, Grease is still the word.
